Cyclohexanone is a chemical which is widely used as a solvent. Cyclohexanone easily dissolves in cold water and the offered compound is widely used to produce various precursors of nylon. Approximately 95% of the manufactured produced is used in the production of nylons. The most important application of cyclohexanone is that it acts as a chemical intermediate in the production of adipic acid and in the manufacturing of caprolactam

Cyclo Hexanone

CyclohexanoneÂ is a colorless oily liquid with an odor resembling acetone and peppermint. The molecule consists of six-carbon cyclic molecule with a ketone functional group. Over time, samples ofÂ cyclohexanoneÂ assume a yellow color.

Cyclohexanone is used in organic synthesis, particularly in the production of a dipic acid and caprolactam (ca. 95%), polyvinyl chloride and its copolymers, and methacrylateester polymers. Additional uses include wood stains, paint and varnish removers, spot remover, degreasing of metals, polishes, leveling agents, dyeing and delustering silk, lubricating oil additives, solvent for herbicides, cellulosics, natural and synthetic resins, waxes, fats, etc.
