Iso Butanol 

Iso Butanol is an organic compound, which is flammable colorless liquid. It only has limited miscibility in water, however is easily soluble in regular solvents such as ethers and alcohol.

Mainly used as solvent. It is isomers, the other Butanols include n-butanol, 2-butanol, and tert-butanol, all of which are important industrially.

They are of tenly used as varneshes and precursors to ester, which are useful solvents, e.g. isobutyl acetate. Isobutyl esters of phthalic, adipic, and related dicarboxylic acids are common plasticizers. Iso butan olis also a component of some biofuels. Iso butanol is hardly soluble in water, but is soluble in almost all organic solvents.

The majority of iso butanol production is converted into derivates (esters) for use as a solvent in the coatings industry. It is very suitable for acid-curablel acquers and baking finishes. It can also be used as a derivate in the manufacturing of plastics and rubber mixtures.  Other major applications include paint solvent, varnish remover, floor polishes, cleaning agents, stain removal, solubil is  in the textile industry, additive in gasoline, additive inde-icing fluids, dehydrating agent, mobile phase in thin layer chromatography, feedstock productions of ethers/acrylates and anti-corrosion inhibitors in engine oils.  The main end user markets are the coatings, plastics, rubber, cleaning, textiles and motor industries.
